Trojan Wrestling Club

Trojan Wrestling Club Registration

Kindergarten - 8th Grade

Mission of the Trojan Wrestling Club

The Trojan Wrestling Club aims to promote interest in the sport of wrestling among parents and youth of the West Central School Community. We will provide a disciplined, structured, and competitive program of wrestling, where participants learn to become champions on and off the mat. Members of the Trojan Wrestling Club will be taught ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, respect, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Registration and Membership

WCYL Trojan Wrestling Club is open to Kindergarten - 8th grade. Registration opens online November 1st and closes November 30th. Three trial practices will be held prior to registration closing for kids to try the sport before committing. Each wrestler will receive a club t-shirt and shorts set with registration. Club singlets will be available as an optional, additional purchase. Families need to provide wrestling shoes and head gear. All wrestlers MUST have a USA Wrestling membership card. Membership fees are included with registration; however, each wrestler will need to be registered online if they haven’t done so during previous seasons. USA Wrestling registration is available at usawmembership.com. Membership supplies insurance for the wrestler and school, as well as allows the wrestler to participate in USA/ISWA wrestling events.

Practices and Competitions

All team communication and scheduling will take place using the Heja App. Practices will be held in the West Central wrestling room on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:30pm EST. USA/ISWA wrestling sanctioned events are typically held on weekends throughout the state starting the beginning of December and going through the end of March. Smaller, local tournaments are held by an invitation-based method, and will be added on the Heja schedule. All non invitation-based tournaments can be found on usawrestlingevents.com and iswa.com. These tournaments are optional and an additional cost to the wrestler/family. Tournaments ensure all kids are equally matched based on age, weight, and experience level.
